    Ok, something looks suspicious here. I'm not trying to bash 123systems, they have gotten a good reputation so far. What concerns me is that they offer a low-end cpu and they claim they offer RAID protected drives. I mean, personally, I wouldn't spend money on a RAID controller when using a low-end cpu.

    P.S. What's wrong with Chicago?

    Apparently that was a temporary system that I was put on initially. They later moved me to an E5620 machine. Here are the Unix Bench results from the new server I'm on.

    I find it very interesting that your benchmark values are lower on a Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5620 @ 2.40GHz powered server - than the previous Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q9550 ...

    Maybe Core2's are better than latest XEON ?

    Isn't that CPU hyper threaded? that would mean you only have one true core but you had 2 before.
